Kody lights are the brightest and most durable on the market providing peace of mind when using your bike rack.
 
This light separates the brake, turn and tail lights into independant left and right hand light fixtures.  Each light fixture is 16" wide and provides bright, clear and visible signalling.  The total width of the lights and bracket is just under 33" wide.
 
The lights are installed on our custom heavy duty bracket for mounting to your bike rack.   The lights sets in place centered on the end of the Sherpa bike rack and is strapped in place using stainless steel hose clamps.  The mounting bracket matches the profile of the last bike tray and covers the rack's end cap.  The light itself sits outside the bike tray's wheel clamping arm so it does not interfere with the clamping arm operation.  
 
Pivoting Light
This light uses our friction hinge pivot design.  The pivot allows you to adjust the position of the light so it can be seen in both the up or stored position as well as the down or bike loaded position.  To position the light just push or pull the light into the desired position. For more information about Pivoting lights please check out our Pivoting FAQ.  The friction hinge pivot can lose position when used in combination with our license plate holder, also discussed in the FAQ.  
 
Cable Lengths
We provide three cable length options.  The cable lengths include Short  (5'), Long (9') and Super Long (13').   Each cable measures a bit longer than the foot length shown.  The Short cable will work in most applications using a standard bike rack with up to four bike trays.  Please see our FAQ page for information regarding how to select the right cable length for your rack set up.  
 
Vehicle Connections and Reverse Light
For this option, choose between a standard four pin, a standard seven blade or the seven blade with reverse lights.  The four pin connection powers tail lights (including plate lights if added), turn signals and brake lights.   Upgrading to the seven blade option adds a heavier duty cable, the seven pin connector and licence plate light connector (we call it plate ready).  Choose the correct connection to eliminate the need for adapters and prepare for future upgrades.  Seven blade is required for reverse lights.   
 
Mounting Method
This light mounts using metal hose clamps with a protective black rubber coating.  This mount is very rigid and holds the light in place very securely. 
 
Double 16" Light Options 
We offer four different 16" wide light fixture options;
Basic brake/turn/tail light, clear lens with red LED lights (we also have a red lens, if you're interested please let us know your preference)
Basic brake/turn/tail light with built in reverse, clear lens with red LED lights and white reverse lights.

Each light option is very bright and will help you be seen on the road.  Reverse light requires a seven blade trailer connector.  
 
License Plate Holders
We do not recommend using a license plate holder with this light application.  It can be done but might cause some issues  with holding position.  The Kuat Sherpa is a short bike rack and in the stored position does not normally rest above the vehicle.  This position is where we are concerned with it holding position at freeway speeds.  Please reach out and we can discuss your application.
